This tantalizing cocktail recipe comes courtesy of The Big Book of Kombucha and we’re a teensy bit obsessed with it. The name, le vent d’été, means ‘the summer wind’ and it’s the perfect whimsical drink to serve at an end-of-summer soiree. It does require a little advance planning, as you need to do a second ferment flavoring using dried chamomile and lavender. However, in a pinch, you can use unflavored kombucha and include a drop of lavender or chamomile syrup to the cocktail to still get the right aromatics.
Makes 1 cocktail
*To make Summer Breeze kombucha, combine 1 tsp dried chamomile flower and ¼ tsp dried lavender to 16 oz of kombucha for the second ferment.
To prepare the cocktail, combine the champagne, kombucha, and elderflower liqueur in a champagne flute. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and/or elderflower petals.
